Passenger Projects- Sam Cunliffe

About

Passenger Projects is an Australian design studio creating contemporary homeware and sculptural objects that elevate everyday rituals.

Founded by designer Samuel Cunliffe and based in Sydney, the studio explores the intersection of product design, material, and form, producing objects that are both functional and expressive.

At its core, Passenger Projects is driven by a belief that even the most ordinary moments can be enhanced through thoughtful design. From the morning breakfast table to quiet daily routines, each object is created to bring a sense of intention, balance, and subtle delight to everyday life.

The studio’s approach draws from industrial design principles, combined with an interest in sculptural form and mid-century influences. Clean lines, considered proportions, and tactile materials are central to the process, resulting in contemporary homeware that feels both timeless and distinctive.

Each piece is designed in Australia with a focus on durability, usability, and material integrity. Products are crafted to last, not only in their construction, but in their relevance, avoiding trends in favour of enduring design.

Googy, the studio’s signature designer egg cup, reflects this philosophy. Formed from aluminium and shaped through a process of refinement, it transforms a familiar kitchen object into a sculptural presence. It is both a functional egg holder and a contemporary design object, a small but meaningful intervention into the everyday.

Passenger Projects continues to explore new ways of reinterpreting domestic objects, expanding the boundaries between utility and sculpture.
